Carerra,

I have read the entire link that you posted in which you claim that Darkbong made reference to Islam wishing to control Jerusalem.

Throughout posts 16 -29 on your link, Darkboong made reference to Jerusalem once.
In message 21, Darkboong states
"I can trace back my parentage over 1500 years. Some of my (nominally Christian) ancestors were buried in Jerusalem over 900 years ago"

The link that you supplied contains no other reference to Jerusalem by Darkboong.

Which brings us back to your false accusation on this thread in message 55.
To support your allegation, you cited a thread in which there is no reference to the statement which you claim Darkboong made.

I suggest that you retract the false statement that you made about Darkboong in message 55 of this thread.

You're the moderator but I guess you don't know where that thread is, do you or that it 's your responsibility to delete any statements that endorse violence? Think about it. ;)

Carerra,

Don't try to play the old soldier.

You made a statement about DB in message 55.

I asked you to provide proof about what you claim DB wrote.
You then provided a link citing the third message on page 2.
I read the third message on page 2 of your link.
I went further and read all messages on page 2 of your link.

The link did not contain anything to support the statement you made in message 55 (on this thread) about DB.

This can all be rectified quite easily by withdrawing that false accusation that you made about DB.
It's your choice.

Ok....did you mention the 8 Israelis that were killed in the same operation that resulted in those two soldiers being kidnapped?

They did. Maybe you didn't bother to read the articles properly.

Assuming what you say is true....

It is true. Whether it reflects the reality of the situation is another, but it was widely reported that the soldiers were captured in Lebanon.

why has NOBODY else...at least that I have heard....said that.

Here's someone else who says it : Operation Change Location (http://www.counterpunch.org/schuh08152006.html)

Just to give you the executive summary (that I presented in another thread), the following news agencies all reported that the soldiers had been captured in Lebanon :

AFP, Hindustan Times, Deutsch Press Agency, Asia Times, Bahrain News Agency, msnbc.com, cnsnews.com, AP, (Australian) ABC, the IDF's Army Radio, Lebanese Army, and of course Hezbollah themselves.

Why did the world media that was pounding on Israel to stop.....never mention it?

The world media did mention it... Hear no evil...

The only place I have ever heard that....was from you....on here....so you couldn't blame me for being skeptical.

Sure, but you now have an article that lists these various sources.

In a way I think more violence is the answer......this region has been embroiled in mindless violence for decades.....I don't think they will ever live in peace.....so maybe an all out war to finally decide who gets to call the shots is the answer.

Setting aside the immoral aspect of that line of thinking, I don't believe that particular scenario is actually possible. Israel has been trying to achieve that for decades and it clearly hasn't work for 50 years, there is no reason to think that it will work over the next 50 years. That is why I think you are crazy.

I do know this....as a world citizen.....I am sick and tired of hearing about violence in the Middle East.

Same here. Our differences arise from the fact that I won't shutup and let US/UK/Israel impose a genocidal "final solution" on people in their own countries.

I stand by me statement....if Hezbollah were "victorious" as you allege.....then they wouldn't sit their like bumps on a log and let the IDF attack them with no response.

They would if they were observing the ceasefire. Israel claims that they are still a threat, why don't you believe them ?

Darkboong also wishes to see Islam in control of Jerusalem but he simply won't admit it (although occasionally he slips up).

1) I am an Aethiest.
2) I don't wish to see any particular creed "in control of Jerusalem" (that would be fundamentally inconsistent with my Aethiest point of view).
3) So far you haven't provided one shred of evidence to back that up, and you have admitted as much in that bit of slander.

I can tell make stuff up about you, but I don't have to. I call you racist, because you are racist, I call you ignorant because you are ignorant (eg: not understanding Scientific method), I call you mendacious because you lie (eg: saying the 7/7 bombers were immigrants).

The sad thing is that your character pretty much reflects the entire output of the right whinging press. As far as I can tell you are unwilling to question authority, or even to ask straightforward questions of yourself. When you are asked to provide any kind of evidence you ignore the requests and repeat the lies. When presented with evidence that contradicts your point of view you simply ignore it and repeat the lie. When it comes to politics you behave like an automaton Crappy, the only sign of independent thinking and life that you show comes in the form of your posts about boat restoration (fair play to you on that one).

My advice to you is to lay off reading the Daily Mail for a bit, spend more time doing productive things like boat restoration.

I must admit...I don't bother reading much of what you post.

It is true. Whether it reflects the reality of the situation is another, but it was widely reported that the soldiers were captured in Lebanon.

Ok...then Lebanon had the right to take them hostage...however by doing so they need to be prepared for whatever retaliation Israel is going to bring at that point.

If the Israelis were in Lebanon...then by all means capture them....but realize that Israel is going to come after them so be prepared for the consequences of your actions. Pretty simple stuff.

The world media did mention it... Hear no evil...

You're right...I googled several sources and find alternative stories....I also can Google and find stories about Martians landing and taking people hostage and performing medical experiments on them too.

The media is not a great source...and really it's irrelevant. I don't think it matters where the incident occurred. If it happened.....it happened....what matters are the consequences of the actions of both sides.

Sure, but you now have an article that lists these various sources.

If the US took the leash off Israel...it could be accomplished. Especially if the US entered the fray if another Muslim country attacks us on our sovereign soil. It'll be damn game on next time it happens.

Well...if I "won" the battle...and the "loser" kept attacking me...I'd go kick his ass.

I think anyone with an iota of common sense can see that.

I happened to see the full 60 minute + Mike Wallace interview with Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Here are a few minutes of it.

He talked a lot more sense than Tony Blair, which doesn't entirely surprise me. I am starting to wonder whether he has suffered from creative translation.

He talked a lot more sense than Tony Blair Definitely.

I have since watched a few other of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's speeches and interviews on youtube.

He is quite a sharp fellow and right on the mark.

Added to that, I'm not the only guy around here whose posts have been tampered with. Colorado Rider complained and one or two other posters (2fast) have taken issue over what seems to be obvious bias.
You all are not the only ones. More proof that Lim is biased and abuses his power as the Moderator. Just a week ago he changed the wording in a post I made in the GT forum and even changed the quote I originally made to win the discussion. See for yourself. Its post #62 in the Phonak disbanded due to drug cheating Landis http://www.cyclingforums.com/t-359578-15-5.html My original post said"clearcut Lim clearcut" and had a different quote.
Like I said before, as the Moderator he created this mess that this tabloid forum has turned into.

I spend far more time on another forum these days so I could care less what he censors. My posts have been altered on several occasions which is childish in the extreme. :D If you can't take the heat, don't light the fire is what they say. :o

A friend in Carolina had me participate on another board where they were discussing the same stuff - Jews and Palestinians e.t.c. I was surprised the discussions were not really so heated. She mailed me and claimed a Jewish guy was having a hard time of it but really I thought it was about 50/50. It was a kind of weird forum, though, but they have this political section where saner minds can discuss whatever.
In reality I'm on many forums when I get time.

In reality I'm on many forums when I get time.On a boating forum that I visit the political discussions are vastly different than here. The majority there lean more on the conservative / GOP side. Probably only a 5% liberal view point there so it is like the opposite world of this forum. Rarely is there ever a heated debate.

The main conclusion to draw is that, as a whole, we all tend to get a wee bit upset over religion and politics. You're right that on the soapbox the discussions can get pretty heated.
Is this something about cyclists as a whole that we all have big egos, perhaps? Maybe in some ways the flame-wars can be entertaining but, by the same token, it ain't relaxing either on occasions. Folk plainly lose their tempers on all sides. Neither do we seem to agree.

Proposal - park politics for a while?

I suspect you're right. I'm sure we cyclists would all get on fine if we were riding together and discussing sports e.t.c. That includes people who may be Christian, Jewish or Moslems or agnostics.
