Um, I wasn't blaming Bill Clinton for anything  . You really like to read a lot into things, don't you? I was just reminded of a certain former president who used drugs and was a draft dodger. And everyone on the left said SO WHAT?! Military service in Vietnam doesn't mean a damn thing.
Until the very next election cycle. Please. Your outrage is outrageous.
As far as my unsubstantiated drug slur, that's called a joke. Jokes are made by people who aren't twisted by their own bitterness. Even davidmc can get a joke once it's explained to him  .
Clinton was a superb President :
The Clinton era will be judged as a golden era in terms of US economic performance especially.
His goverments fiscal policy and his management of the budgetary policy were casebook examples of how to correctly manage an economy.

Which again ignores the point of the posts that everyone here is a hypocrite.
You like Bill Clinton, therefore everything he did is okay. You hate George Bush, therefore everything he does is bad. You like Bill Clinton, so he can have used drugs and be a draft dodger. You hate George Bush, so he can't have used drugs and "avoided" service in Vietnam. (Before you get obtuse about the use of the word "you" I will ammend that to "you guys here on the forum"). Next election, the rules will change again.
I'm now going to ignore what you have to say, Lim, since you ignore and obfuscate the points anyone else is trying to make.

Is every Clinton policy listed in the above statement?
Did I say I liked Clinton? I said I admired his handling of your economy.
You generalise.

I don't recall mentioning Bush in my direct reply to you?
Did I mention Bush in my reply to you?
I think that Bush is inept - his goverments economic policy has been disasterous for the people of your country.
His foreign policy is a catastrophe I believe for Iraq and now Lebanon.
(but I don't expect you to acknowledge this).

Why do you think his economic policy is disasterous for the people of my country? I live here, and my husband's family runs a successful small business, that pays for the health insurance of all its employees. Our business depends on other business (that is, we sell our services to businesses), and the economy is thriving. We can barely keep up with the demand from our customers. All of the employees were paid generous bonuses this year, as is the case every year. Money was invested in new equipment, furthering our vendors' business.
Our mutual funds are doing great, having survived the low period after 9-11. The stock market is back to where it was before the attacks. We have no personal debt except for our mortgage, in a country where home ownership is at an all-time high, especially since we have had the lowest interest rates in history. No one has to do jobs they hate, because illegal immigrants will do it for them.;)
The economy has problems of course, the trade deficit being among them. But both parties in this country have bent over for the corporations that want to export our manufacturing jobs, instead of products. I have seen many people lose their jobs to China. This will continue with anyone we put in the White House, unless it's Pat Buchanan  . Which I am NOT suggesting!! Both parties want the Hispanic vote and will never do anything meaningful about illegal immigration. Each party will use terrorism, hurricanes, anything they can think of to gain power over the other. This is what they care about. As I have asked before, and never received an answer, which group of rich and powerful people cares about the ordinary citizen? NONE.

Sorry, but I'm unaware of some sort of regulatory process where communist regimes are given approval ratings by the head communist. That sort of thing is the domain of free countries. Marx is dead, so who is going to give "seal of approval" to a dictator now? You? Which communist govts are legitimate anyhow? No people have ever voted for it, it is forced upon them by "revolution" after which no one will ever vote for anything ever again.Nobody voted for the American Revolution either. One third of the population were in favour (a generous estimate),one third were opposed to it and one third didn't care much either way. Tyranny by a minority.

:DThank God!
BTW, I think people have been able to vote since then. Hell, even women can vote now!

You didn't answer the question.
inref: your post #121,
Are you implying that one's "age" is in direct proportion to their ability to reason or display moral outrage  If so, you might want to concede your defeat, in this discussion, now before you embarrass yourself beyond redemption  :)

Harken Energy was a real business success (not).
Ditto Spectrum 7.
Again...he's a millionaire...and you're not.
Don't get me wrong....I won't defend Bush as I think he's a moron too....but that's my right as an American....not yours as whatever you are.

Agreed....I too actually live here...and I will never have made more money than I do this year. My house is appreciating...my company is doing well....unemployment is low...so low that anyone that actually wants a job...can have one.
Limerick knows America through our liberal media...and nothing else. If Clinton were president then they would report 5% unemployment as a great number and near historic lows......Bush is president so the same 5% is a record high with the economy in the dumps...etc...etc.
It's funny to see their view of our country....they always accuse Americans of having a myopic view of the world...but then they too...do the exact same thing.

Amen, brother! How about the stock market over 11,000; that makes Clinton "superb" and Bush "inept." And Bush is the one who had to deal with the fallout from 9-11, bringing the stock market back from free fall. Now Wurm will say I "worship" Bush by saying something simple like that.
The economy is actually growing, fast enough that the Fed is worried about it growing too fast. You grow your way out of a deficit, not tax your way out! The liberals have NEVER cared about deficits caused by spending on social programs that make up half our budget, and that 84% of it is wasted. (It's been reported that a welfare recipient will actually get only 16 cents from the dollar that's collected in tax) But defense, no, no, no. Unless it's a war in Bosnia. The only war that is acceptable is one that has nothing to do with our own national interest.
I don't like Bush because he LIKES social spending.

Sorry I've been late on my responses...must have been too busy lately riding my bike. Well, as David Lee Roth once said, "I don't feel tardy". :) Imagine that! Some of us still ride 150+ miles a week, instead of sitting on our new sofas bitching about our taxes.
Typical of the faux-patriots on the Right-Wing though, isn't it? The lack of expendable income couldn't possibly be because of price gouging for fuel/energy, health care, food, rent/housing upkeep - and just about every other basic neccesity you need to live. Not to mention shitty wages & benefits that only ever seem to stagnate or go lower. Tell me, who in your measly world still has a pension plan left at their job that hasn't been raided by your worshipped, so-called "benefactors"?
.
Wow, Wurm is such a stud he doesn't even have to sit down.
Uh, yeah, price gouging like sucks and everything, especially on gas since we are imperialists and should just be taking the f-ing oil, but we don't, we go through this big, secret, complicated version of imperialism that gets us nothing. My house has tripled in value, however, so that's a good thing. Meanwhile, I could pay for all of it if the government didn't need half of my money to piss down the drain, so they could pretend to be doing something.

I agree. My two beefs with Bush are his spending habits....and his complete lack of a plan to deal with illegal immigration.

W Bush should be exposed for the fraud that he is, by anyone willing. And it's good to get a little overseas perspective.
