View Full Version : Anemia?
I just found out that my Immunoglobulin A Is down to 600 below normal and am now going to see a specialist on monday. This is actually getting nerve racking. i will keep you updated.
Yep, nothing gets the old nerves jangling like a good health scare. My advice is to educate yourself as much as possible with respect to your diagnosis, treatment, etc. Research IGA deficiency, causes, etc. When it comes to your own health, you have to assume the role of project manager, with the doctors your consultants. Wishing you the best, Floyd.
Hey, Floyd, you haven't posted in a few weeks - what's happening?
Don't play around with your health.
Anaemia may be benign or it may be a sign of something more sinister eg. Bowel cancer induced iron deficiency anaemia.
So please go to a doctor and get it fully checked out and all nasties excluded before going on a high iron/B12/Folic acid supplement. Playing around with supplements may mask the true cause of your problem and make doctor's proper diagnosis that much harder.
Alright, this may be my last update for a while on this subject. I got back from the immunologist yesterday for the second visit and it seems that I have an allergy to dust and mold. That caused my anemia and my immune system to drop below five hundred. It was killing me literally. I am on allergy meds and have to clean out my apartment and then i will let you all know in two months how itgoes. It's going to take a while for my five hundred ig to raise back up to it's once 860. Thank you all for you help and concern. And i hope to get back to my full health soon.

Of all the weird things! Glad you got to the bottom of it all. I probably should go and clean my house now!
