Yes, with Cycling Peaks you can highlight each lap and create a range and simply read off all the information you want.
For SRM and Powertap you can use the interval function to do this. I assume other brands have a similar function.
I used this yesterday in a two lap race to determine how I went compared to another rider I coach in the same race with a Powertap. Surprising that in the first lap his power was much higher than mine. Guess one of us knows how to conserve energy better :D

sorry i wrote the question wrong. what i ment was can i create a power profile in the form of zones for a single lap. i had this race yesterday and i want to see a power distribution of that race but not the entire day (warm up, wheeling up to the line, colling down, etc). i read in training with power that it is important to know how much time is not spent pedaling. thanks

The most thorough way would be to download it again into a different 'slot' and then cut out everything you don't want. Just highlite what is to be removed and then do a 'cut' from the menu.
Download it.
Open a second slot for that date
Drag and drop to that slot
Save
Go into that slot and pull up the graph
Cut want you don't want - Don't Save
Check it out
Quit it (x in upper right). Say 'no' to the save question.
Pull it up again.
Cut our other stuff to look at a different lap, etc.
Repeat
When done, deleat the slot on the calendar page.
You can also 'cut and paste' the whole graph from your original entry or just use the original, but I'm too chicken and am afraid of losinig it.
