Colorado Front Range Tour
I've been enjoying my new (used) Bike E recumbent so much, that I decided to take it for a tour. I rode from Fort Collins, CO to Colorado Springs, and back (5-6 days with 2 days of goofing around in the Springs). It was a fun trip. The stretch between South Denver (Franktown) and Colorado Springs was difficult, as there is NOTHING in between. No water, no food, and worst of all no Shade! I carried a sleeping bag, tent, and other supplies. I used a small plastic container, about 6" square for a cooler. I would put ice on the bottom with a couple small tupperwares with carrot sticks, etc. On top of that, out of the water, I would put my Veggie Ham. This also served as my water reserves when I ran out. Here's some pics of the Bike-E, which turned out to be a workhorse for me. Although I didn't have an odometer, I estimate I rode a total of about 500 miles.
Here's a few pics of the loaded bicycle:

DUDE!
How did you manage to get up the hills on a 'bent?
I live in Littleton and the number of times I've gone down to the Springs, I always feel the 2000 feet UP we go. On an upright bike I'd hurt myself getting up to the Springs, but on a 'bent! You rock!

Actually, I thought I would have more trouble on the hills than I did. I certainly wasn't breaking any speed records. Used low gears, and just pedalled away.
Since this trip, I did a group tour from Granby to the Hwy 40/14 intersection, and on to Walden. We returned to Granby via Rand. We went over 2 major passes, and some other huge mountains. I actually enjoyed the climbs on my bent.
