yeah, not a psycho like all the other guys. And yeah, despite all that, he still holds the fastest ever 200m. I've spoken to Kennedy and Rainsford, and heard Pate speak once, and they've all got that crazy side to them. Not 'zaney' crazy, but fearless crazyThe top sprinters remind me of good boxers. Sizing you up to work out how they can kick your arse. Cocky, confident, fearless, hard bastards, who if you show any weakness too they will take advantage straight away.
That a few of them are a few bricks short of a load hasn't really been that much of a hinderance to getting good results either.

He was plenty fast like you said (I think he still has the flying 200m record) but I never thought he was tactically as good as most of the guys he raced, plus I don't think he was a 'killer' like Neiwand, Huck, Huebner, Nothsten, Hill, Fiedler etc
Correct. Tactics were Harnett's big failing. Was touched up regularly by Ken Carpenter fro the US in the 80s and early 90s....who himself was nowhere againts the Aussies, (East) Germans etc...
But friggen fast over the furlong.

Haha. A mate & I reckon they used to relase Eadie back into the wild after each season & then have to go and trap him again before the next one. One crazy-ass looking dude.
At the Worlds in Melbourne it looked like he had a permanent minder & it was interesting t see that No-one else would sit in his seat - even when he wasn't around. :)
