When I was in RSA there were a few Dino Ferraries selling for well
under $50,000 (US) I really should have bought one while I could,
when I left the same cars were about 4 times that price.
right hand drive but that never bothered me.
marty
they had the dino featured in a classic car mag over here. the problem seems to be with them is the paint is applied thinly and the aluminium seems to corrode underneath. Still a sweet car.

missed some track rings and cogs at a reasonable price last night by 2-3 seconds because the stupid confirmation page to 40 seconds to load. Stupid Ebay sucks.

speaking of rings, does anyone know where i can get some 04 Ultegra or 105 rings ( assuming they are the same fitment) for less than an arm and a leg? PBK doesnt have anything but dura ace and my pockets arent that deep. :(

they all fit the same bolt patern (130mm), unlike MTB cranks which are all over the shop.

Not just them,
look at Schwinn, been around forever, family kind of ran it into the
ground and they could never really recover. Now Schwinn evokes images
of wal-mart and really bad bikes.
One of the reasons I'm liking small builders more and more, and old bikes
RIH, Jan de Reus and a few others were all built inhouse.
De Rosa has thankfully also kept things local.
MartySchwinn is a weird company. I rode one of the 4-Banger frames years ago and thought it was such a sweet frame. They just appear to be in a furious race to the bottom now which is a pity.
If anyone is insistant on a new Italian frame, I only have four names. Pegoretti, Scapin, San Patrignano/Pesenti, and another brand who appears to make frames for a number of Italian companies whose name escapes me. There are others like Paduano but I don't know enough about them to comment.
I'm sure there are others but you'd have to be having a Chianti in their Hamlet to discover them.

it would probably be the Jaguar XK220.
Doug Mulray crashed his on the day of delivery in a Sydney tunnel. 330mm brake discs don't work so good when they're cold....

Actaully i rekon a S13 Nissan Silvia/180SX are probably the best bang for buck performance street cars going.
fast. scary fast infact. my mate had 1 that was stock bar a GTR intercooler, computer remap and S15 turbo (stock) and it was just an absolute monster. easily would have blown our WRX into the weeds. Although they are used as a drift car, if set up properly the are light, fuel efficeient and handle like a dream. pitty bout the seating though
pitty some moron in a van hit it up the assos at around 100kph in a round about :(
Personly i love my V8 but i am v tempted to go the 180 SX route. its even a hatch to carry the bike :D

Miracle of miracles, I found the retail outlet for San Patrigiano.

If you don't know the story, here it is in a nutshell. SP is a social program run in collaboration with dozens of teachers, role models etc. with connections to the local university and well respected frame builders. As part of a rigorous 're-integration' programe they give addicts and the dispossessed not only treatment for their ills but also teach then skills.
Yep, one of those skills is how to build bike frames. Seriously.
So as I understand it, the frames you can buy from them are the graduate pieces of people who have gone through their program and reintegrated themselves into society.
Is that the coolest thing ever or what?
