but cmon, i look young! just thought id ask. i didnt know if it was a jnr tour as in a small tour or a tour for Jn'rs!
Watch out for Liam Melville from peloton if he turns up. Current u 15 Aus MTB XC champ, 2nd at state, i think hes road nat champ or Track as well. is fast. can ride.
he is coming, he'll have a hard time against Lachie Morton in that age group, should be a good battle.

Two and a Half Men is a pretty shit show, but it's funny watching Charlie Sheen hanging shit on himself, doing jokes about hookers, etc

Wasn't Lemond also a 'butt-dominant' rider?

hmmm so wothout getting to cycling minded, my seat is set right back, on both the MTB and the roadie. i done use set back posts tho.

I know if my seat goes fwd i end up in a world of knee pain...

I only slid it back till there was no more rails left coz the pros did. Nothing like peer pressure from a magazine photo!!
Guess my body adapted. Never tried it any other way. :)

You should set your bike up to the position that feels most 'neutral' and relaxed. Takes some time, and you have to listen carefully to the signals and adjust accordingly.
That kneecap pain thing usually comes from an imbalance between your giant vastis lateralis (or ITB's if you will) muscle and the tiny little quad on the inside of your knee (what the hell is its name again?). It can be managed, but you need patience, good advice, and a training program that doesn't load you up to much until you have it under control.

Vastus Medialis....aka the Ullrich muscle.

Once you've found that 'perfect' bike setup you'll ride on it quite happily.
But as you train and race over an extended period of time your body mechanics will change, meaning you have to fine tune the bike setup accordingly if you're going to maintain maximum comfort and maxiumum benefit from training. Anally retentive types sometimes go overboard and chase bike setup forever ad infinitum.

cheers jock. went and had a refit by turramurra after my 1st road race at calga and the knee pain issue comming up. they changed the height (up) but thats about it. I had played a bit with the seat position in the meantime and right back seems to feel right. Mark agreed that it "looked" correct and had the most natural pedaling action for me.
i think its just a natural feeling cause thats how i ran my 1st XC bike which i used for a couple of years before taking up cycling proper. body learnt. I also am blessed with my dads familys genetics for large glutes, quads and hamstrings.
did i mention that the women on my dads side are no so nice to look at?
