bugger, I didn't even realise there was a GP on last night and now I've missed 'the best race in living memory'?
Any ideas on where to watch it on the web?

Since there is no moderation here Im gonna spell it out for you.
1. download a bittorrent client. Azereus or uTorrent
2. Configure firewall to allow bittorrent connections. Go to www.portforward.com for further instruction (people say this step is complicated its not its dead easy) Whoops forgot to add modem as well, open ports in modem. portforward will help you with this too. If it doesnt work out with the modem just turn NAT off and make sure you are running a firewall.
3. Go to a bittorrent searcher like www.mininova.org or www.thepiratebay.org
4. Find the torrent you want, download it, download the show. Watch
5. If you cant watch it it is likely you need a codec either download the k-lite codec pack or download VLC media player.
Of course this is illegal and I didnt tell you how to do this and if you dont have an adsl connection dont even bother, bittorrent relies on your upstream speed so if you cant upload bittorrent wont give you any down speed.
Make sure you seed!

same story for a mac?
My broadband has unlimited download speed but only 56kB/s upload. That slow it all down?

yeah pretty much but you are limited to bittorrent clients either (I think) ABC or Azereus. Azereus is a good client but bloaty because it uses java.
56k up should be fine as long as its a broadband connection. Who are you with? Some companies charge for uploads (telstra) so if yours does dont bother except for the occassional file. Its easy to go over quotas as well so watch that as well.

It was good, but its only the best race in living mempory if your a one eyed flag waving Button fan! even then its only average on a Moto GP scale. Race 1 of the WSBK ( i didnt see 2) was a ripper as well.
if you watched a Champ car race you would see races like that all the time, in the dry!

Saw the replay of the finish on SBS World Sport, thought the English race commentator was going to wet himself, he was getting so excited.

Any reports on the Hunter Bike Run? Not the best morning for it.
.Good day to stay in bed for smart ppl that is. Sadly I'm as dumb as they come & got up at 6.15 to venture to Stockton. Well it is flat terrain alright but ridin over the bridge into the wind steepened the effort a tad. There was plenty of other wind in the face sections as well to at least harden it up.
I only got wet the last 3 or 4 ks but it fairly flogged down soon after that & as I drove out those still out there looked mighty sad.
Don't know if I went the right way or not but I only did 53 ks so don't know what happened to the supposed 66 ks of the "long" course

I run Azureus on a Mac. Works fine with 512/256 except when it's running eveything else that requires bandwidth becomes useless. That's why I usually set it running overnight. My bandwidth is free between 2am and 10am which is a bit of a bonus and I have a widget that tells me up ups/downs so I never run over quota.
Portforwarding was a right royal pain-in-the ass because portforward.org was written by a nincompoop for who english is clearly a second language. Easy once you figure out what you're attempting to do.

Anyone watch Top Gear? If I was looking for a city car, I reckon I'd go for the Peugeot 1007.

But still it is a comprehensive site. Firewalls are easy to do. If you run into problems with your modem, just disable NAT and rely on your firewall (if you are only have one computer connected to the modem) NAT is only useful if you have more than one computer connected to the modem, outside of that it is useless.

Except the doors are slow, so after a day I would disable them and just use them manually (nothing like throwing a car door open), you cant get in the back seat, its heavy, slow.
Ill stick with the bicycle its probably quicker than the peugot on a track :D

Yeah but it's such an oddball little thing, I'd get it for it's quirkyness alone. :)

Only saw the start of the show when JC was thrashing the Caddy tank around - don't think I would waste any $$ on one of them.

Missed the Saturday morning crit in Traralgon coz I had to work. Spewin'
Saw the arvo stage inc hill climb and finish. Boring. Small breakaway with the bunch riding piano. Stage was too short and easy too. Disappointing because the climb would have been hard enough to break the field up if they were racing.
Caught up with some people I hadn't seen for a while, so that was good.
At least you got something worthwhile from going to watch it I suppose.:)
I see they are predicting large crowds for the Vic champs in a couple of weeks. At least that's the PR spin on the website. Ballarat in mid Aug = cold!!!

Yeah, the Caddy didn't appeal, big brute of a thing with some impressive straight line acceleration but I'm not into Yank tanks. The Peugeot was in a segment up against the Honda Jazz and a Renault I-can't-remember-what. The guys had their mums in as test drivers - a real hoot.
