I dont understand this. Wtf is wrong with a compact? .i'm pushing 40, and therefore a bit old-school, so I just reckon most compacts don't look as good as horizontals.

god yeah!! :) I'd buy one in a second
Thanks mate. I could have got one about 3 years ago when they were still considered a near top of the cannondale range frame for $1500 though a mate who had a shop, mates rates, so $1k sounded alright to me.

*please dont chime in now thylo*I know it's only about 9 degrees (or whatever it is), but I would say it's dramatic, not 'slight'
for what it's worth, I reckon the Giants look ok http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/images/smilies/thumb.gif
some of the smaller-tubed ones are disgusting, like this. This has gotta be the ugliest production bike I've ever seen

i know these are extreme examples, but this Specialized looks 10 times better to me

Yeah, that's why its cheaper I suppose.
Can anyone tell me if there is any reason why you couldn't swap the battery and use a NiMH or NiCAD on lights that originally used a lead acid battery? Not suggesting you should do this kotter, just interested. Not being able to swap the batt without swapping the charger is the most common problem.
Think of the SLA as a training weight. It shouldn't leak, even in a major crash, and the lead will get re-used if you dispose of it properly.

http://www.specialized.com/OA_MEDIA/2004/bikes/04AllezCompCrMo27_l.jpgWho sets these things up for the photos? Stevie Wonder? If the seat was set up where it is supposed to be, about 2-3 inches higher, it'd probably look halfway ok. 55-57cm look much better for publicity shots to my eye. The proportions look 'right'. Super Marios bike looks much better - probably 57cm seat tube. I think he rides a long TT though.

I've gone from traditional on the now deceased GT to sloping on the DBR, which defenitely looks different in the garage, but from the saddle there's bugger all noticeable difference.

I dont understand this. Wtf is wrong with a compact? Its not like a compact is gonna break when you look at it. It certainly isnt anymore uglier than a normal frame. so whats wrong with them.
Girls bike:p
Yup, that's why I have a compact frame. :p :p

*sigh* damn thing from torpedo7 comes with a lead acid battery. All batteries are dirty technologies but I dont want a whole heap of acid floating around my legs.
I wouldnt be too worried. i have a niteflux 10W that i use to use to train at night on. When i bought mine Nitelfux had a sliding scale depending on what battery you got, lead acid, nicad or Lithium ion. all batteries can be bought and i think a lithium ion is only 110 bucks or so? that could be for the ni cad though.

its a visonstick 10 , with a NiMH battery. cost me 200 back in 2004
its ok, battery life and recharde is its probably only downside, but its liveable. ok beam but nothing like the newer ultra dear lights.
i guess the only other issue with it is the bike mount was kinda crappy IMHO and moved around, maybee they have fixed that
