I was looking the TdF power files on the www.srm.de (http://www.srm.de) and within those files, the powers like never seem to go to zero Watts, not even in the long descents. In the figures they state "1 % smoothing", does this take the 0 watts away?

OTOH, the top speeds on the downhills seem to be ~75 km/h, could or would the same smoothing affect those as well?

[.01 * 5 * 60 = 3] Three minutes is a long time to go without pedaling, so it's not surprising to see only non-zero values in the cadence chart.
