I have an off topic question, but figured this was the easiest way to contact you.

I read all the time different manufacturers side by side comparisons of which Carboydrate drink is the best.

1. Are you affliated with any companies drink?

2. Do you have one that you perfer and why?

3. have you done any research as in depth as your powermeter testing?

4. if not, is there someone in the industry that isn't linked to a manufacturer that can give some insight?

Thanks for any input.

No.

I drink Gatorade, largely because it's relatively cheap and easy to find, and there's really not any good evidence that you benefit from anything other than water, sugar, and salt (all three of which it contains, at least as long as you don't just eat the dry powder using a spoon :D ).

3. have you done any research as in depth as your powermeter testing?

The powermeter stuff is really just a hobby...my scientific endeavors are more in-depth, and yes, I have done some work in the area of carbohydrate feedings during exercise.

4. if not, is there someone in the industry that isn't linked to a manufacturer that can give some insight?

I actually wouldn't have any qualms about trusting the data of the vast majority of the scientists publishing in this area, regardless of who actually funded their studies.

I get Gatorade powder for less than $9 for 6 gallons size at places like Grainger.com and Smart & Final Stores.

I'm not Andy! In addition to what he wrote, you should try to choose a sports drink that's a 4 - 8% carbohydrate-electrolyte solution, and use a drink that tastes nice to you. If it don't taste nice, you ain't gonna drink it!

(i'm not affiliated to any drinks companies).
