Ullrich suspended!!!

According to cyclingnews.com this morning, Ullrich has been suspended from the T-Mobile team along with Rudy Pevenage. Looks like the evidence from Spain must be overwhelming for the team to suspend its star rider before any official charges have been made. Watch this explode over the coming hours and days . . .

This tour is going to be a joke! I hope the remaining riders boycott the race like they did a couple of weeks ago. It is madness that riders get thrown off the tour because their names are associated with that doctor. Sure if there is evidence that they have doped throw them off, but to be kicked off merely by association is ridiculous.:mad:

There must have been huge proof that all these guys were/are doping for the teams to take such drastic measures.
I'm just reading about all this now and my jaw is still on the floor!

The Tour will be overshadowed by all this, but there will still be these psycho bike nuts riding hundreds of miles in France in the next month. ENJOY! Maybe it's better all these "stars" are not in...but maybe not too....

It would be a tragedy if any of the suspended riders were truly innocent but even more so if they rode to the finish and ended up being guilty. I was looking forward to a great duel between Ullrich and Basso and I had Basso predicted as the eventual winner of the General Classification. Who would have known they would never see the start!

this was quite a shock when i watched the highlights this evening! I missed the few houurs of live coverage there was ( which is about all the live coverage for the whole tour on non-subscription channels here in the uk) but when they said all this, it was completely out of the blue! I mean, It's blown it all open now, all the main competitors out, for the other riders, maybe it is a chance for them all... It will be interesting to watch who rises up anyway... but it is a bit of joke.

i think "tragedy" is a bit strong for this mess.
unfortunate covers it for me. and if the suspended guys are innocent, they are surely pissed, but should be happy that the teams are taking such measures to clean out the losers who are doping. even if they come out being clean, it's still a no win situation for this year's tour...

what about thor's gash at the finish today? wild, bloody stuff.

They're really not saying much about the missing guys except for when T-Mobile gets close or wins. Actually not a bad race and it's kinda nice to see the leader changing almost daily...
