would a wider tire help?

my question is. i have practised and practised and practised. i went to safeway and got 2 carts to hang on to. and practised some more. and i am not quite there. but i think i am getting close. would a wider tire help? before i die i wanna ride this thing.

There is really no way to learn how to unicycle good except practice practice practise. There is no tricks or shortcuts. If you check for different uncycle there are ones with really wide tires. But those arent for easier riding is for trials unicycling which is doing tricks and freestyle. The big tires on the trials unicycles are to absorb the shock of high drops and jumps. But good luck learning to ride.

I just bought a new unicycle today that has a 4.25" tire on it, but I have not had a chance to ride it yet. I will let you know how it works out.

Maybe the shopping cart thing is slowing you down... You're working on your balance, but you're also having to control shopping carts and that in itself can be a trick. Did you try riding along the wall at the Safeway, or finding a place with a hand rail? A fixed object is a lot more predictable than a couple of whacky shopping carts. BTW, I just joined your forum..
