Saw cycler using blinking Xmas lights
on his bike at night. He of course, had reflectors, but has anyone got any ideas as to how he gets power for a 120 volt, I would imagine, partial set of Xmas lights.

I am asking because he really looked about as safe as one could make themselves for evening rides.

I wouldn't mind having the same for myself.:rolleyes:

I got some strings of Christmas lights that were powered by two D batteries. It's a cool idea, but the wiring wasn't too sturdy.

Well, that's good to know. Maybe before next Christmas I will be able to go to G Boys and see if they have them there....and perhaps the gent I am married to could rig something up.

Not the same, I know, but I've seen these on a few bikes here in Seattle, and they're not only hard to miss, but quite pretty! I understand they weight quite a bit, but I've never cared much about weight (since I ride in part to exercise), so I've toyed with the idea of getting a set...

A lighter, cheaper, less ostentatious, but still colorful alternative are these LED lights you put on your valve stems. I understand they're motion-activated:
