Nonsense - please post yours. It's good for others to see a range of abiities (and I know I'd do well to remember that FT w/kg is not the only game in town. For a track/ crit guy like Warren, there are more than a few other factors probably just as important.)

FTP: 358w; Normalized 407w
Age: 31;
Mass: 79kg;
Height: 191cm;
Years cycling: 2;
Cat. 1 rider in Denmark. 62th in road race and 34th in TT this years national championship.
A guy on my team just won a 40km TT, and his time was 47 minutes. He's only Cat3. The day after that, he also did a 4 man TT race and came in third place. I think that might move him up to Cat 1... unless road racing is really tough where I live.

Haven't done any better than 312W average for an hour on an indoor trainer, but given that I am actually training properly for potentially the first time ever, hopefully this will improve ... feel free to tell me off if indoor efforts don't count. :D

Poll: What's your Functional Threshold power?
A guy on my team just won a 40km TT, and his time was 47 minutes. He's only Cat3. The day after that, he also did a 4 man TT race and came in third place. I think that might move him up to Cat 1... unless road racing is really tough where I live.
K50,
Are you sure the 40 km TT was really 40 km? Was it a closed loop? (no downhill or tailwind all the way)
That average speed is fast enough to win the last _world_ time trial championship. Or the one before that. Or the one before that (even including Millar, with drugs). By a goodish margin too. Check the numbers - I would be more inclined to believe a time of 57 minutes if he is cat 3 and it is a local TT race. (or there's been a helluva wind shift part way through his run)

Poll: What's your Functional Threshold power?
I think FT is not something that is easy to measure and there are a lot of vague measurements and this make comparison difficult. There seem to be several ways that people measure it making this a bit of a lottery not a comparision.

It's just that people "estimate" their FTP using various methods rather than doing a 60 min max power test ride.

Besides, just because someone has a higher FTP than you doesn't mean that they are faster than you...
I think this is something that you witnessed personally, right RDO?

Poll: What's your Functional Threshold power?
I think you would have huge discrepancies here, also, due to motivation...Absolutely. But, I think a lot of people who are using their 20min interval power as their FTP are placing a huge bet on motivation and I think they are often disappointed.

:DAbsolutely! Hell, I witness it every day. We have this 120lb 20-y.o. kid in my club (Chuck) and I know that every time we do a long climb that I need 75-100W more power to stay with him. But, it's fun trying anyway.:D
