I need some help.....
I'm in the process of forming an MTB club for my local area, we have a bunch of guys who all want to race. Now we've done some cross country stuff and lots of road bike racing but we want to include a Downhill race in our calendar.
I've got a good Idea of what the course is going to be and want to make sure all the logistics are in place, I just need some idea's on how to handle the timing. Having never been to a DH race before I don't have any idea how it's normally done.
My initial idea is to have a radio link between the start and the finish, and set everybody off in one minute intervals. Does anybody have any other ideas???
Cheers

the easy way it to have a start time say at 12:00. post the start order earlly!!!!!!!!
one minute intervals is nice . 30 secs if the track is under 2:00.
you can use two walkies-talkies. starter starts them on there minute.
finisher write the time they come through. over all so if the 5th rider
starts at 12:05 and the track takes 5:00 his time would be 12:10 - 5:00.
hope it helps and good luck.
