Storing tyres (tires) and preventing dry rot

Hi guys and girls.

Quick one today - I know that ozone and UV light are the two primary causes of dry rot and rubber degredation.

Just wondering if anybody had any tips for storing unused tyres?

Obviously storage in cool areas, away from light and heat (UV and temperature changes), is a smart idea.

I've also read that you shouldn't store tyres near electric motors, since they generate ozone. This obviously applies to running motors, but does it still apply to motors that are not running.

Any other ideas for preventing rot?

If the tyres really are unused then storage should not be a problem but a lot will depend on where you store them : out of doors or in a garden shed will cause problems , in the house ( or garage if warm and dry ) and you shouldn´t have any problems - new tyres have a surface treatment to improve shelf life , if that´s intact no problem .
