View Full Version : Problems braking
I've just come back from a weekend on a marin sponsored mountain bike course in wales.
I kept coming off my bike because i couldn't brake without my back wheel locking up!
Whats the best thing to do to my V brakes to get more progression in the braking?
Should i just remove them and change to a rear disc? The only problem with that is my DEORE hub hasn't got the disc mount on it :(
Any advice would be appreciated!
I guess you could dial out the brake so it would engage later. You are just going to have to get use to modulating it better. You really should be using more front brake if you are trying to stop that fast. Although if you have trouble locking up the rear I would be afraid to use more front. Keep riding, practising.

Also, try practising that rear wheel slide on your training rides. You should find that you learn to control it and take advantage of it:)
