View Full Version : 29er?
Hi all,
Does anybody here ride a 29er? What brand and did you have to import it yourself? I'm quite tall (197cm, 101cm inseam) and am seriously considering a 29er as my new mtb, but I'm not sure what the situation regarding frames, wheels and tires is like in SA.
Any information will be appreciated.
Thanks!
I dont know of a local dealer that deals with them 29's. I am also quite big 1.97 and ride a 61 frame. My problem is finding racing wheels, all the bike shops sell wheels suited to smaller and less weighty riders.
There is a manufacturer in USA that make custom built bikes including 29's .Check out the site

The new model is: http://www.felt.de/felt06/02CROSS/qx70.php
you want to call Shan Wilson at Bowman's Cycles in Bree str Cape town.
They import Titus 29'ers. Gavin Rossouw recently won the 24hrs of Malmesbury riding one o those.
Beautiful bike.
CycleLab also flogs the Fisher 29'er range but expect a few months before delivery since they order for customers who have paid a deposit for them.
