I know its not safe to ride with music blaring in you ears but it can be good for pushing yourself. So has anyone here purchased a case/armband for using the ipod whilst cycling or running and any recomendations.
Trance music seems pretty good for beasting yourself to, seems to make me pedal that bit harder!!!!!!!!!

I just stick mine in a jersey pocket. I use the middle pocket, so that the weight doesn't cause the jersey to shift to one side. I usually don't notice it's there. I can control it with ease while riding. The only problem is it gets some sweat on it some days. If I had a mini of shuffle, I might be interested in an armband case. Although, considering that (at least here) it's illegal to ride with headphones, I don't think I'd want to wear it on my sleeve.

I bought one of these www.bikepods.net (http://www.bikepods.net)

It's essentially cable ties and rubber tubing but the simplicity of it is pretty ingeneuos. It works really well, mounts right up on top of your handlebars, and allows you to flip through songs while you ride. I know it's illegal (also a CA resident) to ride with headphones but I've never been stopped.

Take a look at the following:
http://www.berghaus.com/index.asp?bhcd2=1133298978
It's designed for a GPS unit but might do the trick.
I use a Berghaus case for a video camera and found it very tough and durable.
