Just wanted to say hello.....I live in Marion, Iowa..Very cold here now so riding on the trainer, which isn't nearly as good as being on the road. I'm spending the winter recovering from a crash last fall. Waiting for spring. :)

Hey all. Total road biking newbie here. I recenly signed up for the AIDS LifeCycle (http://www.aidslifecycle.org/) and have just embarked on my training. I grew up in Mill Valley, CA, moutain biking on Mt. Tam for years, but never road bikes. I've gotta say, I'm loving cycling! My friend, who happens to own my LBS, set my up with a beautiful Marin San Marino and I took it out for my first real ride today. I'm very excited about training, riding, improving my fitness, and doing my part to contribute to a great cause!

Hi to all the San Francisco Bay Area folks! Maybe I'll see you on the road sometime - look for the tall, chicken-legged guy!

Hey Everyone,

Just browsing across the web and found this forum, seems like a great community of people! I'm into a bit of mountain biking and love downhill trails, but also enjoy a good cruise along the road. Favourite places to ride are Lysterfield and up and over Mount Dandenong.

I work at Anaconda which is an outdoor adventure store in Bayswater, looking forward to learning more about all things outdoors. At the moment just working a heap, riding when i get the chance and climbing at hard rock in nuna.

Cheers,

Karina :)

Hello. MY first post.
I am keldabunny. I'm from Camden Town, via Hackney. I mostly only ride in London, I rode in the country once and loved it. Im an ex soho rikshaw rider, I had a recumbent brox with 4 wheels, it's a nice bike.
Thinkin of going to Spain with my (2-wheeled) bike and tent in March, so any suggestions about where to go would be good! With a hybrid bike.. I work with drunken monkeys and little people..children.. and pooch about with my friends, dance to reggae an drink too much whiskey sometimes. ;) I go too fast on the road an keep on getting nearly squashed but its fun like that..

Hello to you all new poster here. Not real new to cycling, have been doing it for a few years now. Look to by my first new raod bike this winter.(been on a fat tire) Hoping to make a BIG trip from Lincoln NE to Denver Co by my 30th birthday. Now going to be 29 in April. Tell me if it is to much of a lofty goal:confused: . But I think with the right training I CAN do it!! Any way just wanted to say hello to everyone. Thanks for any input

Hello,

This is my first post here. I am a 47 year old triathlete who rides a trek 5200 and a QR Kilo tri bike. I dont know the difference between a crit and a creek but I have completed over 50 tris and IM twice.
My favorite event other than IM is Ragbrai.
I live on a small farm in extreme southern IL by Kentucky and have wonderfull back roads to ride on , if you dont get hit by red necks throwing things at you.
I want to get faster on the bike so that I can go back to IM in nov of 2006 and do the 112 miles at about 19 mph and so I can also make my 18 year old tri stud son work just a little when he trashes me.

Amco,

Welcome back to cycling forums, I'm just to embark a coast to coast tour of the US on the 6th of Feb 05. I'm planning to post my travellogs for anyone interested in following along. The website that I'll be posting my updates is going to be: www.crazyguyonabike.com (http://www.crazyguyonabike.com)

Whch by the way, is what most people say when you tell them what you are doing. It must be genetic because "most people" don't seem to have that sense of adventure in their blood. I just bought a GPS online and awaiting a trailer which should be in this week some time.

I'll try to keep everyone here posted on my progress. Once again nice to see more and more people getting back on their bicycles.

What do you do?
I am a pediatric dentist, father, husband, Catholic and a triathlete (in no particular order  ).

I graduated from Creighton dental school in Omaha, NE, and finished a residency in pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. I worked in Germantown, WI for two years before my wife got pregnant at which time we moved a little closer to home (Nebraska). I raced mountain bikes for 3 years but had to make the switch to road/tri. There are no mountains in South Dakota, just lots of wind.

Thanks for the wealth of information!

Did you go to Austin in O4 and ride the ride for the Roses, I was there with some friends... I was not prepared for the heat and wind but it was great to see all the survivors on the road, some riding and some sitting outside their homes. I am going to do the Chilly Hilly (35 miles around Bainbridge Island near Seattle) in Late Feb. and from there work on training for several century rides in 05.

I'm Dave, from Austin, and I'm just a lowly rent-a-cop. But there's more trails to ride around here than I've got spare time, I've got a place out west where you can XC for miles without seeing a another living soul, and I've got three bikes. Gonna do the singletrack at Lake Bryan weekend after next to kill my brother and throw his bike in the lake. Teach him to talk sh!t to me...

Hi, I Michael, live on the south coast of N.S.W. near Nowra. I'm a student, so try to fit as much riding between studying as possible. I am loving the holidays at the moment, and am riding 16hrs a week. Cycling is the best sport around!!
