Where are you from, what do you do?
Hi all,
From Perth, Western Australia. Great place to ride bikes with plenty of open well maintained roads and plenty off bush tracks through national parks and the like for mountain biking. The state government just opened up the Mundi Bindi trail which is 300km ride form Mundaring (just east of Perth) to Collie ( a town 300km south of Perth) through the parks.
We also have great weather and I actually started road bike riding again about four months ago in the dead of winter and have had plenty of sunny days out so far.
My buddies and I ride from Perth to the coast at Cottesloe then south to Fremantle and back to Perth around the Swan River. It has bike routes all the way around. About 70 km's.
Then the next week we do some hills around Canning Dam....A dam good ride through more state forrest with a traverse across the top of the dam wall halfway.
Currently riding a Giant OCR3 but upgrading next week to a Specialized Allez Comp 2004. Looking forward to that...
As to me. I'm a 35yr old copper who is moving across into IT.
Funny reading this how many middle aged IT geeks there are riding...Maybe being stuck in front of a PC all day encourages you to get out and enjoy daylight when you can.
Cheers

My name is tossy, I'm female and live in central Victoria, Australia.

Tossy:cool: Good luck and enjoy the ride! I sure envy you since you have so much nature and tracks to cycle through.

Hi
I'm from Tarampa about 80k west of Brisbane and am getting on a bike for the first time in years as part of my rehab following a farm accident. I am looking forward to riding with my kids and eventually day tripping and social rides when I am fit enough.

Hey all, I'm from Arlington, Virginia. Originally I'm from Michigan, but loved it down here so I stayed. I work for a fabulous school system (FCPS) as a technology assessment specialist. We (my office) assess new and emerging technologies for the school district so we get to play with a lot of new/cool stuff.....and then have to write about it. My interests are to numerous to list, but primarily I'm an extreme skier and am turning in to a biking fan. My steed of choice is a (2005) Trek 1500.

Hi, I'm from Sydney, NSW and work in customer service.
I try to do an hour's cycle 3-4 times a week, and maybe a couple of hours on a weekend... I say 'try' because I'm strangely not too keen to go cycling in thunderstorms and 38 degree celsius heat. Not after a break from cycling for a couple of years, anyway. Perhaps I shouldn't have bought that car after all...

I'm from Montreal Canada and cycle for fun and as a means of transportation. My daily ride is 28k to and from work plus cycling for fun on my days off. I just had my bike ripped off and am in the market for a new one. (Like the Cannondale Road Warrior 1000 - any thoughts).

Hi, I'm Marcos, a 29 years old amateur bike lover. I'm from Spain but I work in London. I would like to re-start riding, I used to do it with my dad, at the moment I've got a Bianchi 95 with full set of Campagnolo Veloce, I am about of change it and I am interested in a the Orbea Vento 2004, I saw it in a shop and I really liked it.
Any coments would be more than appreciated, thanks.

I am a casual bike rider. I do about 50 miles a week and once a month complete a metric century at some event. I have a question about inflammation. Inflammation is a normal healing cycle of the body. If that is the case should I live with some pain(knee pain) and let the inflammation do its thing? Please advise. Frank

Hello all, new to the forum and biking in general. I used this forum along with some others for my purchasing decision. I went with a '05 Trek 3700. I rode a Specialized Hardrock, liked it a lot, but wasn't willing to go over the $300 mark just yet. I just picked it up this last Wednesday, have already been out 3 times on it. I live in the high desert area of So Cal., so it's mostly pavement and a little offroad. I'm just getting back into biking for exercise and stress relief. I haven't hit any trails yet, waiting to build up my stamina before I get too crazy. Anyone have any opinions on the Hardrock vs. the Trek. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks:o

I'm Jason from Newfoundland Canada...I am an Engineer for an oil company. I do triathlons, mostly Ironman distance. I usually ride 4 to 5 times per week...right now it's fall where I live so that means short days, cold temperatures and lots of rain so I've been riding the Computrainer for the last 2 weeks...I'm looking forward to a solid winter of base building so I can have a great Ironman Canada next year!
Cheers!!

I'm from Berkeley California. I've cycled for fun for about thirty years. Gettin a little old for this much fun. Used to cycle over the Berkeley Hills and do a loop through Orinda and the little town of Clayton. About twenty miles a day. A bit much for these old legs.
