I wish to all our viewers that they pass a wonderful festive time banging in the miles, so wash your bike, and not the pots.
I posted one up to some idiot who asked "How often should I lube up?" Answer
"When she says so"
So may the roof of your house never fall in, and those below it never fall out.
And a special message to all our ES posters, I am privy to a few bits of information as to what is going on, I am waiting on a reply from Picard, before I work out a strategic plan, obviously, with others. As you are aware ES promised to have something in place by early March, well by the time the festive season has terminated we will be only two months away. So if you wish please e-mail
fpicard@eurosport.com to further the issue, if only to remind him of our presence, and please use your handles with him, I still use pp as he knows who I am.
I do have a basic strategy in mind as to undermining their site if they do not concur with certain parameters. This was the reason I discussed using 'Bloody Soapbox' with Lim, MCM, and BRF as it gives us more latitude, which unlike other chapters seem to be inhabited by 'cry babies'. The concept seems to be working in my opinion. What say ye?

I am sending the good captain Picard an intergalactic mail as we speak.
Let's hope that the Ferengi don't hijack, my message.

I hope the "keep DD campaign" will be maintained.
I have to say I have a certain fondness for that Slough-based "Office Manager" D Harmon.
I'm still convinced that he is David Brents manager - and he did do a turn
on the New Musik pop song "Living by Numbers 2 ("they don't want your name, just your number"), back in the early 1980's.
But DH denies all knowledge.

I think you are going to find that DD will be gainfully employed this coming season. It's still the antis, anonymous, or not, that will strike up as soon as the new board gets under way. If ES don't do something about it we will have the same scenario again even though their stance cannot win. We know who they are.
I must agree that DH is the man for the future, and we must also remember that DD will be 74 this time around.
I've never seen 'The Office', so I can't comment.
That CVA,s got her legs round some geezer at ES, and it might be Simon Reed. On the other hand, along with many, she is not liked, and fortunately DH can't stand her. Now as he's in charge, I don't think she'll be hijacking the mike. Speaking of Mikes, what about Smiffy?

Merry Christmas and a healthy 2005 to all wheelmen and to all Eurosport cycling watchers, from John Grant. Worthing Excelsior.

And from the track team - you can't get clothing like that any more!

Well at least when hit the deck their shorts didn't disintegrate like a trollops tights at a Saturday night disco. I can't for the life of me understand why riders race in the shorts that they do so, when they are going to get road burns so easily. Progress I suppose?

The EAS stuff he is selling - I have used that stuff, quite expensive.

It's obviously a failure. What are you weighing in at the moment. Fingers too fat to play the piano. Need help getting up the stairs?
Come on ole timer, stick at it, only another weeks guzzling to go.
A Happy New Year to you Tim, and may your family be strong enough to carry you up the wooden hill.

First of all apologies for not being around over the last month.

What with this bloody virus, which they have now found out is whooping cough, and the run up to Christmas I have been neglecting cycling.

Very very late Ghent 6 day update.

I made it there for the Sunday, and it was the day of the dramas and illnesses.

The Dutch pair Stam and Slippens won, but only by default, the leader Matt Gilmore was taken ill and had to retire in the end.

Our 2 boys the Downing brothers did a good show but it does show the extensive gulf between the quality of cycling in the UK and on the continent. I do hope their team does well in Europe next year, because they are very dedicated.

I hate to say it I don't understand track, the ethos of going round and round like a hamster in a wheel escapes me, (but the views were interesting, if you know what I mean) I much prefer being in the open air watching the roadies.

The added attractions of being able to visit the christmas market in Lille was a bonus.

I can thoroughly applaud the use of Eurostar too, a very very efficient way of getting across to Europe. 5 1/2 hours from my home in the uK to my hotel in Lille, excellent.

All in all it was a good weekend, being able to meet up with friends from the Uk and Europe and chat about all aspects of cycling.

The next cycling we get on the TV is the World cup track from Manchester on Eurosport over the weekend of the 8th/9th January. I know that there is a live programme going out on the Saturday for an hour, with the 2 Davids, Duffield and Harmon. nothing on the Sunday but the highlights on the Monday during the day.

I also hear through the grapevine that if you have Sky you're going to be able to watch the Jacobs Creek Tour Down Under broadcast on the same day as it happens. I do hope its right.

Then it will be time to gear up for the new season, and all the rubbish that this Pro Tour is going to bring. I can't honestly see it working, but we must give it a chance [teeth gnashing loudly]

Can I wish you all a Happy New Year, as I missed Christmas Greetings, and may 2005 be happy and prosperous one for everybody.

MCM

Too late, too late, the virgin said, I said to you about knickers and string, and not what you purported that was cabbage leaves and things. Too late my love, and far too late to boast of anything.

well hi there, belated happy new year , just got back from sunny corsica, well 3 days of sun 20c, then 3 days of rain, but the island was hit by a snow blizzard so all the mountain raods were blocked.. got out 4 times, not much but good fun.. the mian roads are great, but the interier are crap.. the driving is just maddness, they have NO respect for anything on the road, even themselves, if they want to buy a loaf of bread, they drive up park in the road go in and get it. the car is blocking all the traffic, its mayhem, what it must be like in summer one wonders.. there are a number of racing clubs but they are in bastia (ya), too far away, but only saw 3 real racers (sic)...

went out today with the club, just great, the weather well its about 20c, just unreal, i was out in shorts, did 90kms @32 moyen, not too bad for january..

must shoot off the tea's on the table.

I compliment exactly the same same sentiments as Limerickman to all our crew. So much so, that the war against Eurosport begins tomorrow, and we shall keep firing shots at their leaky mal-captained ship. Get the yardage correct Mister Deckman, they are lost at sea, no compass, no bearing, and no maps.

Funny you mention it - I went in to the ES site yesterday to see if the message board might be up and running.
Nowt !
And you're right - all they're showing is tennis from Doha

I think ES have shot themselves in the foot too.

Nevermind BRF at least we kept it together for the winter, that's the main thing. We can still pull a few strokes by writing to the comic and CS to tell them where we are. And if they do open up with a shit board we can post to tell the others that we are on XES. Instant repartee and messaging on the QA system, like the old V3 board. Fuck'em. I've found that Lim and I have pushed the boundaries out slowly but surely along with the dose sudden boys from below the Mason Dixon Line. Dem boys can swear and hold ground, just our kindred souls. Ye can shoot 'em and day get up agin for a reload.
Don't peak to early, we need a World Road Champion.

Well Phil, how many road miles did you bang in over the xmas hols, you might as tell us how many turdo hours as well for what it's worth.
Track? 6 hours at 30mph=180
6 hours at 10mph=60
What do we know?
You're going soft, riding indoors on a turdo and the track. Hey theres some nice weather out there to contend with, good strongwesterly wind.
