Disrespect! If it wasn't for the Americans no matter how big they may be. You would be speaking German right now. Don't forget IT!

Americans weigh down cruise ship
DOZENS of seats on the world's most luxurious cruise liner have collapsed under the weight of obese American passengers.
The chairs -- on the Queen Mary 2 -- are being replaced or repaired.
The seating is mainly in the bar and restaurant areas.
Alstom Chantiers, the French company that provided the liner with all its fixtures and fittings, claimed many of the chairs had buckled under the weight of larger passengers.
"There are some things that need to be changed or replaced," said a spokesman. "For instance, there are some problems with the chairs because some of our passengers are heavier than we imagined.
"It's not an English problem, it's probably more American."
An unnamed former member of the ship's crew said: "We do have many large passengers on the QM2. Most of the passengers are American.
"And we do have 10 restaurants on the ship, so if they are big when they get on, they tend to be bigger when they get off."

Disrespect!
Where? Please point out the disrespect in Lim's post.
If you are embarassed by your country's obesity problem, which it sounds like you are by being so defensive, do something about it and quit your bleating.

Life won't be worth living for the aspirants this coming season. BRF is going to win the Champs in Austria. So expect an even higher mileage after Xmas. Why did I ever leave the area? Spring comes earlier, and stays better. It's not warm in the winter, but it's not as dreek. Billy Holmes, who used to live where I now live, still says ' Well there's always trees with green on them, makes you feel better in the winter'. 1st Jan. expect the barrage, after all that's when it really begins.
Fair dues to the BRF : he's making the most of his retirement, isn't he ?

What's going on? 243 messages about cycling (sort of) Now we've got fat Murky ballast on the QM, Krauts and Nips. Stop it please, don't ruin our refuge. There are plenty of Merkin crap sites elsewhere. Let it sink slowly to the bottom, and don't reply. You naughty boys.

That's a beauty! I did send an e to Kathy in Valencia, no reply, but it hasn't come back as undelivered. I also sent one to Tony Bell, no reply and not returned. I think that they both have boxes all over the place. Tony's website is down, and has been for ages. As for Hetchins, like you Lim, I'm surprised he hasn't come in, and I do know that MCM has poked him with a sharp stick. Must have a word with MCM, I'm sure she's got a good few addresses somewhere.
You blaming everyone apart from yourself. Now just do as we both say. I have two pro cycling champions under the belt on the weights. Check out Tony Fitton, world champ powerlifter, employed in USA, I think it was the Uni of Alabama. 2 years in a US jail. Nice man. So how many hours have you done on the indoor washing machine? Your just a poser.
Redneck, I got it a bit right, and a bit wrong. He was at Uni Alabama to start with, then he went as weights coach To Auburn, San Diego. he did all the footballers, and he coached your great Bill Kazimaier and others. He got 41/2 years in jail, and 5 years probation for supplying steroids. A lovely person, who looked after me and Charlie Callan in Manchester.UK. We used to spend hours in the cafe/rest room looking through Martindales Pharmacoepia for 'things'. The only thing we could beat him at were calf raises. A delightful man who helped everybody on the weights. He used to take special care of an old chap who had had a stroke, when he came in the gym, he left the others to make sure the old man got round safely. At that time he was the world champion powerlifter on the squat. How much? just over 1000lbs full squat.
What are you squatting these days? I only got to 425lbs.
I mean, what sorts of thing should I be doing on there, I've had a look at some of the programs on these site, or should I ignore them?

Read them by all means, then ignore them. Have you got the thing right now? or do you have to wait for Father Christmas? Just warm up on it then start going faster. Do 2 hours non stop, and about 40 odd miles Tues and Thurs, and do it outside in fresh air. I'll just have a look at the mumbo jumbo site.

Right Phil, I've read the site, and all the guff. Look at it this way, you are entitled to your opinions and ideas, nothing wrong with that. So us three wise men call you into the office, give you tea and biccies, and listen to you for a quarter of an hour. Then we decide that you were wrong and we were right, so you go away and do as you were told in the first place. Gottit!
Ive got to wait until christmas
Yeh, OK, can't do much about that, can you? Anyway, school hols, plenty of time to bang in the miles. Why don't you start your mileage chart from the first day of the hols. Get in front of Lazyarse Redneck. That way you can get into BRF's good books.

I am with you on that... save the Political/Nationalist Bullshit for another forum... that's for all Americans and Euros alike... There are plenty of those threads on this site.

Now, Lim & BRF need to stay off me - I am a big American - I could squash you... and I meant 1/1/05 But I am working now...
As for the squatting - I don't do any max - I work out with 300 lbs x 8 reps. on my last set... I will try and see what my max is.
Auburn University is in Alabama, and they are all about Football down there in the deep South - Football in the South is a religion, and in the Deep South, it's even more so, on the verge of religious fanaticism.
There is a big stink here now with that BALCO thing - Grand Jury testimony is coming out about who admitted what, and some big names are being bantied about. Kind of sad, actually, but nothing that really surprises me, either.
I am with you on that...
Answer a few q's. Lim asked in which year are you going to start training? How's the weight training going, and most importantly what is your best poundage for a single full squat? I want to know how much power is in those spindly legs. Hey listen why don't you mail me you gym card as an attachment. Should be veeeery interesting reading. I can help? you better that way, after all you should be on top power by now. And make sure it's your card.

What, you don't trust me? What's up with that? I actually haven't been keeping a "card." I have been working on memory, as far as weights and reps... but I should employ better record keeping. I have a plan, where I work the upper body, then lower and alternate - going 3 times a week. So, some weeks will have 2 upper & 1 lower day, and the next week will have a 1 upper & 2 lower. As far as the squat lbs (as in the earlier post) I am working with 300 lbs. x 8 on the last set, but will check what the max is. I don't think that I will be getting 425 just yet, but can see it in my future.
I will actually send you a running total of stuff (work outs) and you can give me some insight - I will put it in an excel sheet.

Are there any mileage charts on anything that I can right it all down on?
(ones that I can download?)

I did a search on Tony Fitton, and on Richard Tony Fitton, and found the article in Sports Illustrated where they interviewed him in prison - that's been 20 years ago! That was the only thing I found on him, though.
