Ya that is a really good bike for the $$$. But it is more of
a trail bike for really big, tall and heavy guys so it
should be great for you.
Just make sure you have good standover clearance if you plan
to ride real trails.

The Hoss is designed for 'Clydesdales' (riders that weigh
more than 200lbs (~95kg)). The Hoss is a strong bike, but
it's also pretty heavy. Depending on it's intended use, you
may want to look for something a little lighter.

He's an "exteme sport" rider though... we know that riders
of this type will break anything/everything on too-light
bikes. I say it's better to start heavy, and go lighter as
you continue. He's ~175 pounds, so not too far off the mark
here, either.
